Patient Information

About Your Visit
Preparation for your appointment

What should I bring to my appointment?

Kindly arrive 10 minutes earlier to allow for the paper work to be filled in if you are a new patient. Please familiarise yourself with your medical scheme requirements and bring along your proof of Medical Aid and proof of identification.

What do I wear?

Loose comfortable clothing that can be removed easily. If you are having a non-vaginal sonograph, you will not need to get undressed therefore a top and pants is suitable.

What happens in a consultation?

A Consultation with Dr Rockson is generally around 20 to 40 minutes, and it includes examination, sonar (scan), routine tests, weight and blood pressure check and or any other procedures necessary in the rooms.

Can my partner attend?

We encourage support of partners for prenatal scans. As per hospital policy, your partner will be asked to wait in the main lobby of the hospital until called. Once you are ready for your scan, you may call your partner to join you in the consultation room.

How do I pay for my appointment/claim from medical aid?

For certain medical Aids, Pre-Authorization is required. Kindly ensure that you have the pre- authorisation confirmed with your referring Doctor prior to our consultation. The consultation fee does not include laboratory tests, these will be settled at the relevant laboratory. Dr Rockson is contracted to Discovery Classic plans as well as CAMAF.

Kindly note that an individualised quotation will be provided to you depending on the procedure, theatre time, length of stay in hospital and Anaesthetic fees. If you are on medical Aid, you will settle the bill. There is a levy for patients who ARE NOT on Discovery Classic or CAMAF. Please enquire with our office about the fees.

Dr Rockson has card facilities for payment.

COVID-19 Protocols

Due to the ever-changing COVID Protocols please confirm with the rooms or hospital, however you are required to always wear a mask. There will be screening at the entrance and the number of people allowed during the consult will be limited.
